In this i am going to show how to create a new Datacenter and add host in the datacenter and lastly how to install virtual machine on ESXi host using vCenter Server.
1- Right click on the vCenter server and select New Datacenter.
1- Right click on the vCenter server and select New Datacenter.
2- Give Datacenter a name. I am already created another Datacenter before so ignore that one.
3- Right click newly created datacenter and select Add Host.
4- Add the name and credentials of the ESXi host and select Next.
5- Select Next.
6- Select Next.
7- Select Next.
8- Select Next.
9- Select finish.
10- The host has been connected.
11- Right click on host and select New Virtual Machine.
12- Select Next.
13- Enter the name and select Next.
14- Select the storage and select Next.
15- Select the OS and select Next.
16- Select Next.
17- Select the virtual disk size and than select Next.
18- Select Next.
19- Right click newly created virtual machine and select edit settings.
20- In the CD/DVD drive, provide the ISO file of the OS and select ok.
21- Now power on the virtual machine and perform the OS installation.
22- Right click the virtual machine and select Open Console.
23- Now select Install/Upgrade VMware Tools. VM tools will install the mouse, NIC and others drivers.
24- Select Next.
25- Select Next.
26- Select Install.
27- Select Finish and reboot the virtual machine.
Conclusion: The New Datacenter has been created and the host has also been added to the datacenter. Further a new virtual machine is also created. In the next post i am going to show how to configure the Vmotion.
